SIG 550 / Stg.90

SIG 550 / Stg.90 field stripped, with acessories
Sig 550 was designed by SIG (Sweizerishe Industrie
Gesellschaft) in early 1980's.
Swiss military adopted it in 1984 under the designation of
Stg.90 (Sturmgevehr 90).
Technically, Sig550 is gas operated, short stroke, select
fire weapon, capable of firing in semi-auto, three round bursts
and full auto modes (fire selector is ambidextrous). Barrel
locking system is somewhat similar to AK-47 (rotating bolt).
Cocking handle is permanently attached to the right side of
the bolt carrier. The receiver is stamped from steel, and
utilized "break-top" design, like the M16 or FN FNC.
The polymer buttstock is folding to the right side and equipped
with rubber buttpad.
Stg.90 is issued with bayonet mount, lightweight folding bipods
and polymer transluscent magazines with built-in clips to
connect magazibes in packs of three pcs.
