Mab
stands for "Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne" producing since
1921 automatic pistols based on browning mecanism.
MAB's
were commercial guns and sold well in Europe and in the States.
Those
guns were used during WWII by german forces (some models exist with german
marks) and therefore by the french army.
They
are now only used as surplus pistols for the french police mainly using
revolvers (Manhurin MR73).
