In 1893 in the "Manufacture de Saint Etienne" catalog appears a curious small repetition pistol sold under the "Machinegun" name. A few years later it will be renamed the "Gaulois" and will remain build till the beginning of World War I.
Invented by Brun-Latrige this gun doesn't have a trigger as the rear part acts as the repetition and ignition mecanism.
The model displayed there is nickel finish with special grips. Three cartridges are also on the picture. Various pistols were inspired by this design (pistolet rouchouse, le merveilleux, le protector,...)
